Excavation / Pipe Replacement

After examining the problem using drain camera inspection and trying to clear the drain with drain snake, the last step for a permanent solution to your drain problem could be a complete drain pipe replacement through excavation.

Drain excavation and replacement:

“From the initial camera work, to explaining the alternatives available, through to excavation and replacement, clean-up and final inspection, the entire team was very thorough and professional. The price was in line with other quotes I got, and the job was completed according to the quote, and on time. I would definitely recommend talking to DrainWorks for any serious plumbing needs.”

Exterior drain replacement:

“When Jeremy first arrived, he reassured me that he would do everything he could to resolve me drain problem. And that he did. He went over and beyond the call of duty to try and resolve the issue. When Jeremy realized that there was a problem that he couldn’t repair he suggested the next course of action. The crew that came to excavate and correct the drain problem were wonderful always kept me informed as to what they were doing.(I felt sorry for them and made them coffee because that day it was cold and it rained all day.) Fred and Lou both answered any questions I had the day of excavation, and Lou went out in the rain and looked at my downspouts and gave me valuable suggestions as to how to disconnect them properly. I would recommend drainworks again and will call again in the future if and when there is a plumbing or drain problem. Thank you for resolving my drain problem with compation, respect and kindness.”

Replacing trap and breather due to roots:

“We had used Drainworks in 2004 for a basement drain back-up, and when it happened again a couple weeks ago I knew who to call! Armando was very professional, helpful, and informative. The work consisted of an initial camera inspection, followed by the decision to replace the trap & breather due to tree roots. The following week the excavation crew came and worked extremely hard the whole day. They tarped the area they worked in, cleaned up well and were very respectful of our space. Armando came back the next day for a final inspection and snaking, and this removed most of the roots causing the problem. Armando also informed us about the city of Toronto drain grant process, which was a big help. I felt confident being in their hands. I’d highly recommend Drainworks for fast, friendly service.”

Removal of old clay drains from house to city line, replacement with PVC pipe”

“Our drains started to back up after a big rain storm. DrainWorks came out and snaked our pipes to get us flowing again. The technician, Jeremy, impressed us with thorough explanations of everything he was doing. We decided to have the old pipes replaced to avoid further tree root invasions. Armando was the technician for this second job; he and his crew arrived on time and went straight to work. The team worked steadily and carefully. All our questions were answered in detail as the work progressed. The clean-up was impeccable too. We are completely satisfied with this company’s work, from the first call, to the final inspections. Top notch service!”

Construction trap removal:

“We met with Mike from Drainworks two days ago regarding a clogged drain. Mike quickly assessed the situation and determined that it was likely an issue with the P trap that was put in when the house was built, nearly 100 years ago. This had been a recurring issue for us. He presented our options without any pressure, and suggested that we remove the trap. We agreed, and the crew arrived yesterday (the next day!) to get the work done. They were quick and neat, and arranged everything properly: gas line location, city inspector. It was all done in a few hours. Mike’s assessment was correct and we will likely be able to get a city rebate due to the tree roots. When the crew dug out the trap, they had to take out a section of garden wall I put in a couple of years ago. It was not their responsibility to put it back, but they did anyway and left everything neat and looking good. They even made sure that the cleanouts would be in our garden rather than the middle of our walkway. All in all, we were very impressed with their friendliness, professionalism and attention to detail. Plus, they were much cheaper than other quotes we received. At the end of the job, they ran cameras through our entire plumbing system including right up to toilets to make sure that everything looked great.”

Because we treat everyone’s home with the same respect we show our own, our excavations are surgical in nature and very unobtrusive.

That said, excavation isn’t for everyone, which is why we offer “No-Dig” technology as well as Hydro-Jetting.
